Busy Week Last Week

Hey everybody,

Last Monday the 14 of February, I was told that two 12th grade students were coming over Thursday and Friday from a British boarding school in Africa and they would be willing to help me film the into video that I have been working on. So for the rest of the day on Monday and all day Tuesday I rushed around and got everything that I was going to need for the film. On Wednesday I set everything up by 9 which took about 3 hours. At 9 I started to film the auditions for Bob, the main character in the video. I was finished by 10 and then by 12 I had everything cleaned up and put back in the studio. Then at 12 I started writing down what shots and angles I wanted to film. By 8 that night when Joe and Peter arrived, I had figured the shots for 6 of the 8 scenes. Then in the morning I finished the last 2 scenes and set up the set before 8 when we started filming. Joe, Nadine and Myself filmed and Peter and Joy controlled the mic. and later in the night Sig helped with the lighting. we filmed till 1 ate lunch and then at 2 continued to film until 6 when we ate dinner. After dinner we filmed a night scene. At the end of the day we had filmed 4 of the 8 scenes. In the morning we started at 8 and then filmed till 12 when Joe and Peter had to go home and Nadine and Joy took over their places after lunch. We filmed till about 6 when we were done all 8 scenes! it was a really pack but really fun week!

Thank you for your support and prayers,

My Weekend

Hey,

Every Sunday up till now I have gone to church with the Fesers, they go to a church that mainly consists of missionaries and is very much like a church in Canada. On Saturday I went with Roland Falk, a pastor teaching at the bible school next door to us. We went to a small town about three hours from were we are living in Tengaru. When we got there we where wet by the pastor of the church that we where going to go to in the morning and he showed us were we where going to stay that night. It was a really nice little B&B style place where we also ate dinner. For dinner we had chicken and rice with chai which is a traditional Tanzanian style meal and was very good. In the morning we had breakfast with more chai, and left for church. The church that we went to was very small and had a couple small school rooms attached to it. When the 1st service started there where probably around 80 people there and it was about 1/3 men which is very uncommon in most Tanzanian churches where you might see one or two men in. The second service had about 200 people squished in the church. There service went much like one in Canada, they worshiped then there was a sermon and then we left, but their worshiping was so heartfelt and strong it was unlike anything I have seen, and the sermon was done by Roland in English and needed to be translated to Swahili and the congregation was still really interactive throughout the sermons. After the services the pastors of the church Roland, and myself stood at the back of the church and greeted everyone on their way out which was a really nice thing to do. Between the two services the pastors and myself went out for more chai and to talk, then after the second service we went out for lunch where we had another traditional Tanzanian meal of rice and roast accompanied with more chai which was really tasty. Then after lunch we went to meat the family of one of the students at the college that Roland is teaching at, there where very nice and welcoming to us. Then we started the journey home. On the way home we drove past a group of about 20 baboons just walking down the road which was kinda neat to see, its the first time I've seen any african animals besides cows, goats and donkeys which you see in Canada as well.

Thank you for your support and prayers,

Steven

The Maasai Music Videos

Hey everyone,

Over the last week I have been working on making a music video for the song Abraham from the Hope Of The Maasai CD, I started by putting in subtitles for the song which was recorded in Maa, which is the language of the Maasai. This was relatively hard since I know only a couple words in Maa and all I had was the English translation and the song to work with, but it did turn out really well, Sig came up and looked over what I had done and said that it was all in the correct spots! After I had finished with the subtitles I moved on to the organization of all of the clips that were shot for this song, which took a while because there where a lot of clips and I tried to keep them in very specific groups for ease when I go to choose the clips that I want to use for the actual video. Right now I am trying to learn how to use Apple Motion so that I can try some effects on the video that I think would make it look really cool but I am having a hard time finding a manual for Motion on the internet that I can download, I found one late yesterday that was online so if all else fails I can just use that one.

Thanks for the support and prayers,

Steven
